It is IMPOSSIBLE to get ahold of Dr or nurses, I have called multiple times for different occasions and never got to speak with anyone just had to wait until my next appointment which is sometimes weeks ahead, it’s very very frustrating.Otherwise everyone is nice when I’m there, I like this practice a lot, just a very helpless feeling not being able to speak to a provider about pain and problems during my pregnancy. Not sure if I would go to this practice for my next child for this reason alone.
Impossible to get anyone on the phone to schedule an appointment. Ive been here twice and it took forever for them to get me in (one was an emergency). They arent capable of scheduling appointments when youre actually at the office either, which I thought was very odd. Now Ive tried to call multiple times to schedule another appointment and no one will 1. answer or 2. return my calls. I ended up switching to a place nearby because they answered my call immediately and seemed to genuinely care.
Not a great experience, not recommended. Took too long to receive test results. And they will price gouge you. Went for my annual womens exam which is covered by insurances 100% since it is preventative care. While I was there I asked the provider as question regarding something else (it was like a 30 second conversation) and they billed me for an office visit on top of my annual exam. How unethical. Would not go here again.
I have been trying for a week to get my medical records sent to a different place since my doctor moved. I have not gotten any calls back and have called and left multiple messages. Not only am I having a hard time getting my records, I’m having to do all the work for them by uploading my release form and then faxing it as well. Switching to a different office shouldn’t be this difficult. They’re probably doing this so I can’t move but this gives me another reason to do so. Unacceptable.
Mid Stars becasue my DR is amazing. I will miss her. But when I takled about having heavy bleading at a yearly visit and get charged 200 dollars more than my free well woman visit. I am out. I had been seeing my primary for paps for a long time with no additional charges when we talked about period related issues like heavy menstration. (Aka having heavy periods WHICH is about woman stuff). AND I have done it at this office before with no additional charge. But I will not feel safe talking about anything with my GYN anymore without worrying about a major additional charge. So I am out.
I have been a patient at this medical practice for more than a decade, and I have always been very fond of the doctors. However, I have been consistently frustrated by the inability of the practice to provide servers at the promised time.
The doctors are great, but the office staff is impersonal and lacks skills to acknowledge/resolve issues. Whoever keeps records lost some of my paperwork. I waited to schedule an appointment for over 10 minutes on hold. I was told its been chaotic since weve moved from Olathe. Not comforting since I am entrusting you with my body. Like I said, physicians are great. Other areas I am not impressed with and Im relieved I only have to deal with this a few times year.
Ive been going here for around 10 years. Weve been through alot. My Doctor recently retired so I was nervous to start up with a new one but Dr. Grounds was great! She totally put me at ease and was so kind and helpful. As someone who doesnt have children but a history of things you sometimes worry if you will have to start all over. I would recommend this office hands down.
This has been my OB clinic for both my pregnancies (2019/20 and 2023/24) and each visit has been great. From the front desk staff who keep the office running smoothly from check-in to check-out. The nurses, phlebotomists, and sonographers who are always friendly and great at what they do. To the different doctors I have seen throughout each pregnancy who have made me feel comfortable each and every visit. I highly recommend them!
If get 0 star that is what they deserve it , I was calling and make an appointment for my wife following up her pregnancy, they asked me insurance information and I gave her but she said she can not see it and transferred me to the billing department. Then the billing department told me it’s active and there is no need to transfer to them so they told me call again to them . I call again they check may insurance again and they took all information they want and make schedule for me. Then they wait until my appointment date almost waisted a month and they call me and ask me to pay on my packet or cancel the appointment. They said my insurance is out of network.how it was in network when they make appointments and after a month waisted my time said not in network pay on your packet or cancel that’s terrible…..don’t believe them they just waiting there advantage they don’t care about people!!!!!
I have been with Womens Clinic of Johnson County for six years. In those six years I have had to wait several days to hear about lab results (with urgent findings) or when calling about questions on medications they prescribed while pregnant. I have had a nurse tell me I was most likely having an ectopic pregnancy and to go to the ER because they couldnt help me anyway at the office. This is after I asked if my symptoms were signs of the medication they put me on. A visit to the ER later, it was in fact a side effect of the medication that ER doctors said was just a nurse was too busy/lazy to check the side effects for (even though this side effect was common knowledge of that medication). I have had constant heavy bleeding with massive clots for days, and was called in for a last second ultrasound to see what was happening. That took almost three days to have just a person even look at the results. Was told my doctor was too busy to look at it. I have had appointments where I have waited up to 3 hours. All of this is backed up by support. You are just a number, you are just an insurance card, you are just another thing that comes in their office and takes up their time but they can bill.
The receptionists are very friendly and try to be as helpful as possible. The Doctors have a tendency to be very overbooked and it tends to make you feel less like a patient and more like a number they just wanna get through. I had to switch my OB 2 weeks before having my baby because I didnt trust my doctor. She was never available, never there, and when she did see me she tried to get in and out super quick. In the end she didnt inform me about life changing medical information regarding my baby so I couldnt trust her anymore and switched doctors. Other than that particular doctor and the waiting times I do still like the restnof the people and operations in that clinic.
After I have my baby I will no longer be going to this office. They are incredibly rude when you call, in person it’s a bit better but I can’t help but feel rushed, my appointments are never at the time I’m scheduled. Unprofessional. And I just get snobby feels from everyone in the office. Including doctors. You just don’t feel cared for, I’m hoping this is helpful for any soon to be moms looking for an office that won’t make you feel like a burden. This is not the one
I am Dr Lombard patient she was always good but problem is getting her appointment very difficult .During my 8 th and 9 months pregnancy I never got single appointment of her .Every two weeks once they used to Schedule with different doctors or nurses and after coming there waiting time is also too long .Then during my delivery they are very irresponsible and also not assessed properly, I suffered a lot more than 3 days for delivery it was very bad experience .I don’t recommend anyone women’s clinic of Johnson county.
Good at scheduling appointments and performing Lab tests.Bad at Assessing Patient condition (esp. Dr. Emily Mathisen ). Try to avoid appointments from her as she might be assessing wrong or she doesn’t have time. Overall bad experience utilizing services with un reasonable bills.
I went for my annual as a first time patient and will never go back. I was taken back to the room within a reasonable time, but then waited in my lovely gown for quite a bit of time... To the point I was considering getting dressed to go find out if they forgot about me. Dr Blevins introduced herself and answered questions I had, but seemed to be in a hurry. She did not give me a proper warning when she would proceed to the next step (ladies, you know what Im talking about). Needles to say, she was very rough and made it extremely uncomfortable. Ive never been sore the next day from this type of appt. Perhaps Ive been spoiled by my previous OBGYN, but sadly she couldnt move to KS with me. My husband even said to schedule future appointments when we travel to see family. If that wasnt bad enough, the billing was messed up and did not process correctly through insurance. Ive worked in the insurance field and understand codes can get mixed up. However, every time I call to get it straightened out, I either get the run around or go directly to a voicemail. This is ridiculous. Three months later, and still fighting over this. Really unprofessional. I just want to get this over with, so I can leave this experience behind.
My care team at WCJC are Melissa Callahan, NP and Carrie Grounds, MD. I absolutely love these women. They always listen to me and are very knowledgeable with my history and my diagnoses. However, I recently had an appt with Dr. Crystal Taylor because my other two were booked. I do not recommend her at all. Her bedside manner is lacking and she was extremely quick to dismiss me. I am talking within the first 30 seconds she was already telling me I was wrong and that everything I was feeling was not what I was feeling. She doesn’t know me or my history yet comes in so matter of fact. She told me I wasn’t feeling better from my meds and it was a placebo. I am crying at this point and she didn’t even offer a tissue just continued to describe how I was wrong. I asked what could be the issue then since I have been symptom tracking and do not think it could be anything else and she told me to see a psychiatrist because I was wrong about what I thought I had. I had a poor experience and left feeling completely defeated and stupid. Do not recommend Dr. Taylor.
Dr. Shipman is probably one of the best providers I have ever had the pleasure to encounter. She takes time with each and every patient. She knows the details about your life and clearly is passionate about what she does for women. The ONLY downside is that the wait times are crazy long. But you always remember why they’re long when you leave the room- she talks to you in depth. She takes TIME to hear what you’re saying. Not many doctors do that anymoreShe’s also delivered both of my babies. I wouldn’t have changed a thing! You really can trust this doctor with both your life and your babes.
I went to WCJC following a sexual assault and was met with the kindest, safest, most supportive women and felt entirely taken care of both physically and emotionally. Rachel and Julie are amazing practitioners, and good-hearted, empathetic, and strong women. For any woman who has survived a sexual assault, I hope you will go straight here because you will be taken care of far beyond what an ER will provide. There arent words to adequately express my gratitude for this practice and these people. Thank you.
I saw Dr. Ripps and she took plenty of time with me and answered all my questions and gave me options. She was friendly and kind. I was there 2 hours total, but I understand that happens when the Dr. takes time with you. I probably spent 30 min. with her for a pap and to discuss surgery for a cyst.Update: I had an appointment with Dr. Ripps that I scheduled 9 months in advance. The morning of the appointment I realized that I hadnt received a confirmation. I called numerous times and finally hit the doctor option to get in. I found out they had canceled my appointment but not called me or rescheduled me with someone else. Thankfully I didnt drive 45 min. each way for an appointment to find out I had been canceled. I will be finding a new doctor at a new office.
I have always had the very best care here! We can talk about anything, honestly, and I feel like I’ve put myself in good hands! Don’t shop around
The level of professionalism in the front office staff is lacking. It seems this clinic now only sees their patients as money machines. In the office in Shawnee, the front desk is hit or miss. I am not sure if its a training issue or what, but they appear to not be knowledgeable about their policies and procedures. Some are nice; some are not nice at all. I had another baby a few years back at this dr office and was not treated the way I was this time around being pregnant. The front desk, in particular one person, would get pretty aggressive towards me when it came to down payments, etc. I had to explain to this person what a family deductible was. Even after I fully paid my deductible way before baby arrived, I was still being questioned by the front desk about making payments because the billing department had not applied my credits on account to current charges. It was an odd situation and made me very uncomfortable. Since I had already had one baby at this office, they could see my history and know that I was a good payer.I am glad I dont have to go back there again for quite some time - if I even go back. It would make me very anxious before each appointment, which is not great for a pregnant person getting their blood pressure checked. Also, who treats sick/pregant patients like that?! Please tell your front desk people they are not bill collectors and to simmer down. It was like they were getting commission on money collected. Please see your patients as actual patients and not money machines. Because of this, I would NOT recommend this place to family or friends if they are currently pregnant or wanting to become pregnant. I would not want anyone that I love who is pregnant to have to go through that at each appointment. =(I had issues after baby arrived too. They sent out a statement showing I owed much more than I did because they had not applied the prepayments to my current charges. Once I called, the billing dept was very nice and sent out a corrected statement. To be clear, I never had any real issues with the billing deparmtent, but they do need to get it together - dont send out statements that arent correct. They wanted me to pay almost $1k more than what was actually due! There were a few times where I had to add an ultrasound to an existing appointment. I would call and speak to scheduler (after waiting on hold for way too long) who would not be able to get me in and would transfer me to the nurse! I would then have to wait on hold for the nurse. I didnt have any issues with scheduling appts with my first pregnancy but had all sorts of issues scheduling with my second. The nurse said they are busier now because everyone skipped appts due to Covid and are now getting them done, but most people scheduling are not getting ultrasounds so that makes no sense to me.I will say that the experiences I had a few years ago here being pregnant vs. being pregnant this year at this clinic were night and day different. They need to step up their level of professionalism in their office staff. Luckily, I did not have any issues with my doctor - so thats one positive!
Been a patient of Dr Shipman for over 20 plus years. Recently she was out on Medical leave. Front office staff very un professional. Arrived 15 minutes early for appt. Waited for 1.5 hour. Front desk never informed me upon checkin that the wait time for Nurse practitioner was over 1 hr. Overheard ladies at front office desk tell another patient it was a 1 hr wait. Then told her and I it was now more like a 2 hour wait. I witnessed and watched the front two ladies converse about those of us waiting. The office staff has gone downhill and is rapidly descending at a very fast rate. Very unprofessional and two front ladies are chatty with their personal lives. Please inform all staffing that people such as myself and others are why they have their jobs. Focus on customer care and informing the patients of wait times before coming to the office. Educate your staff on professionalism. Still waiting on lab results, makes me wonder if the labs ever got sent to the lab. Was there for yearly check up. Nurse Practitioner never did the full routine check down there…guessing its time to find another Dr outside of Advent aka Shawnee Mission Health for future needs
I recently moved here from out of state....did a lot of research and my PCP recommended this group. I called the office and gave them all of my insurance info...I was placed on hold while they confirmed that they did accept my insurance. I proceeded to make an appt and was happy with the visit...however, a couple weeks later, I received a denial from my insurance as this doctor does not accept patients with UHC exchange plans...I called the office only to be told that my card was easy to misread (they misread my insurance card) and that it is my responsibility, even if they give me misinformation. Stings to pay for doctor visit when I pay over $1,000/month for my insurance. Beware if they tell you that you are covered...
The clinic seems to be focused on money and not patient care. I wasn’t even examined or given typical care for a woman having the issues I am. I was told I had three options, one of which was a hysterectomy after a conversation, nothing else. Dr Blevins seemed annoyed when I asked her to repeat details so I could write them down. I will be getting a second opinion before I ever consider such a big decision. Hopefully I will be able to find a doctor that seems to care about my well being and looking farther into the issue with an exam.
I like my doctor a lot but am currently an hour into waiting for my yearly appointment - frustrating.
EDIT: after continuous late appointments, feeling rushed, rarely being able to reach someone by phone- I decided to leave this office and I am so happy with my decision. It’s confirmed my feelings that this office focuses on money and not quality patient care.I continue to be charged for things after I was told by multiple people that I would not be billed. Have contacted numerous people, all who have met me with no sympathy. I’ve been told I would receive calls back and have yet to receive one. After all of this time trying to speak with people, I JUST received another charge for something at the beginning of year that should’ve already been processed. It’s also awful that every time I call I have to wait 30+ minutes to speak with someone. The focus here is on money and not patient care.
I didn’t always love how appts where always running exceptionally late or the availability of doctors vs nurse practitioners was always something being run into. It made planning my care very difficult and oftentimes very rushed (the direct reasons why I deduct a few stars). Their close affiliation with advent hospital was helpful and their skill set/OB care was still good overall! My doctor (Shipman) here is absolutely incredible and I would follow her anywhere. So I have reviewed her directly in the platform that addresses her quality directly.
Ive been going here for going on 5 years, and its been nothing short of amazing. My O.B. has seen me through all 3 of my pregnancies, and has seen other women in my family! The ladies at the front desk make you feel welcomed, and even take the time to learn and remember your name and your family. The nurses are superb, and I have never felt as though I or my concerns were irrelevant or not valid. I have recommended this office to numerous people and every time, they have been satisfied with the service received.
I really hate this doctors office! My doctor Cynthia Eckhart isn’t bad at all that’s why I gave it a 1star! However the doctors office itself is horrible it’s long wait times! Your sitting waiting at least 45 minutes for a 10 minute visit! If you need any paperwork filled out they charge you $25.00! Then get it whenever they get to it ! I’m new to the Johnson county area so I choose then based off my delivery for Shawnee mission hospital. However if Yoir wanting a more personal birth experience! This is not the place for you at all. Even now I’m experiencing ahigh risk pregnancy I still don’t know who to call if I’m having problems. The clerks that answer the phone are rude as hell! I definitely won’t be coming back after I have my baby! Also it’s no guarantee your doctor will even deliver you it may be someone you’ve never even met!
Beautiful place, super friendly staff, awesome doctors & nurse practitioners.I’m hard of hearing, so sometimes I struggle understanding people, especially now with the face coverings. But surprisingly, everyone in WCJC made me feel so at ease, making sure I understand everything. They would take notes, they would pull down the coverings for few seconds so I could read lips & they even put my hand on the baby fetal heart monitor so I could feel my baby’s heart beat in case I can’t hear it.They made me feel so welcome, seen & respected. I love this place!
Been going to Dr Healy for a number of years and shes always been awesome. Always welcome to answer any of my questions and really takes the time to listen to any concerns.
This clinic seems not much respect the patients time. Not to mention the phone calls are very difficult to reach out the nurse or never receive feedback. (If you are new patient and going to give a birth, yes, they love you. If you have following up issues and question, sorry they have no time) i tolerated first visiting, waited long time. Second visit, they made me wait 50 mins in the room. Is patients’ time not important? Why the appointment even matter if they just make the patient wait?Well, they claim they have a lot new babies born. Excuse for not being organized? The appointment as I understand is for both patient and doctor. If it is 9:00am, doctor should be available at least 9:10. Are they play doctor priority game? The clinic shouldn’t take patients advantages by letting them wait forever. Those clinics need to fix this problem.
Im a new patient to Dr.Grounds she is very helpful and knowledgeable.Carrie Grounds is a Wonderful Doctor cant wait for her to deliver this new bundle of joy. Love the conversations we have its never a dull moment. Thank you 😊 😊 Dr.Grounds
I have been a patient of this group for almost 30 years. This used to be such a wonderful group, however the past few years their customer service has gone down significantly from bedside maner of ultrasound techs during miscarriage process, to long wait times in the waiting room, to long on hold times on the phone, to being told someone would call me back to schedule blood work and weeks go by without getting a call, to medical professionals not inputting orders talked about during appointment, to unwelcoming unprofessional unhelpful front desk staff who appear to have low iq. I am sad to write this review as I loved this place for a very long time, but they now appear to have too many patients to adequately take care of with the current staff, and there is definitely a feeling of lets pocket all the money we can and not put it into what we need to take care of our patients.
I love Dr. Eckert. Shes a very good doctor and she treats me like an actual person, and I feel like my baby and I are important to her. The nurse calls me back quickly when I have a problem, and theyre very good about taking care of whatever I need. They dont leave me waiting forever when Im there for my appointment and the office staff is very nice as well. Definitely recommend this office, and I will not be changing doctors any time soon! Thank you ladies for being so caring and kind and taking care of me during my pregnancy! 😍
I had surgery with Dr. Maturo in January, and ended up in the ER 7 days later with severe pain and complications. My 1st post surgery follow up appointment with Dr. Maturo was supposed to be 2 weeks after surgery. I came for my appointment and was put in the exam room. After sitting there for almost 20 minutes, I was informed by a nurse that Maturo was called away for an emergency and the Practitioner would be in to check my incisions. No problem.I waited another 35 minutes and the practitioner never came. I had to get up and leave. I informed the front desk of the situation and they half heartedly apologized and said if I go back to the room they will do the exam now. No thanks. I already gave an hour to this, and my incisions are fine. I had to get back to work...To this day, Dr. Maturo has never tried to reach out to inform me of what was found during my surgery. The only time I saw her was when I was coming out of anesthesia and she said told me my lab results would be back in 2 weeks. I have no idea what stage of endo was even found. Just that she could not remove all of it without damaging organs. Sweet. This surgery was over a month ago, and there is ZERO information about findings/diagnoses in the online patient portal. The only way to find out what happened is through speaking with Maturo. Who can never be reached.Today I had another episode of excruciating pain associated with my monthly cycle (which was supposed to be remedied by this procedure) and called to speak to Maturo. I got the nurse instead. She said go to the ER. I explained that I cannot afford to do that. The last trip was extremely expensive. She said she would have the on call Dr. give me a call. We waited and received no call.My boyfriend finally called on my behalf because I was a mess crying in pain, and they said that the Dr. was not comfortable prescribing me a narcotic. I explained that I did NOT want narcotics. I wanted to be seen or have literally anything non-narcotic that could help sent to a pharmacy. They werent comfortable with that either. This person I was speaking with had already been in contact with the on call Dr. He or she was never going to call me back. I was just written off. I was told that they were booked full until friday of the following week. Go to the ER or wait.If you are an endometriosis sufferer, find another practice. They do not care here. You will be told go to the ER or suffer and be made to feel ridiculous and treated like a drug seeker for being in pain. I have NEVER in my life been treated so poorly. Save yourself the extended pain, poor treatment and embarrassment. Find another practice.
My first visit with doctor Carrie Grounds was is in 2008 during my last pregnancy. She also performed my tubal ligation in 2009. It is obvious that she takes pride in making sure her patients are aware of risks while answering questions very thoroughly and calming our concerns. She’s empathetic when necessary. She also has a way of making the process enjoyable with her charming/amusing conversations. Her demeanor is so appreciated. I feel fortunate to be in her care. She’s a true gem. Thank you!Dawn Chamberlain
I’ve been a patient of Dr. Lombard for 15+ years and now my daughter is also a patient. I must say, I have never had a single complaint regarding my care or experience. Everyone is kind, the staff is knowledgeable and diverse, the facilities are easy to access, and billing and payment is a breeze. 5 stars and then some!
Dr. Carrie Grounds is honestly an incredible doctor. I had been dealing with a long-term delivery complication that was affecting almost all aspects of my day-to-day life. No doctor I had seen was able to understand what was going on and for how long I would have problems. Dr. Grounds reviewed my history thoroughly and was able to come up with a solution and a new perspective. She changed the way I saw what I was going through and helped me move forward without giving me any false hope. She is down-to-earth, thoughtful and thorough. I am very grateful to her and would recommend her with enthusiasm.
I was a patient here for almost 12 years. First with Dr. Peck and then with Dr. Matheson. Both were/are wonderful doctors. Unfortunately the staff has gone down hill. They care little about patient care, don’t return phone calls or emails. I will not be back and would not recommend this office to anyone.
Was reccomended to Dr Matthieson as a late term transfer patient. Front desk lost all scheduled appointments and when I tried to speak to the manager it resulted in her hanging up on me. Ridiculous. I was looking forward to meeting Dr matthieson, but am appalled by the lack of consideration from managment.
I usually love the drs here but recently they scheduled me with a new dr. Dr.grounds who brought up scenarios of my children being murdered to pursued me to not get my tubes tied. I was disgusted and shocked. Won’t ever recommend her.
The entire staff, nurses and doctors are just fantastic. Their kindess goes way beyond the norm. Had to have some things done differently than the normal, the lady, Christine, at the Olathe Pavallion went out of her way to make phone calls, ask question to find a solution. The atmosphere is friendly, professional and caring. Highly recommend.
Awesome group of doctors. Dr. Healy and Dr. Maturo are both amazing. When I delivered my first baby I felt TRULY cared for, and that doesnt often happen when you visit the doctor. None of my appointments ever felt rushed and it was like visiting a friend that really cares about you.
Me and my wife did not have a good experience at all and my wife is 39 weeks pregnant. I get that doctor is busy but the receptionist should do their job in at least letting you know that doctor is going to be late and so you can plan accordingly. We had to wait for more than 1hr just to wait for our turn. Never coming to this location again.
Ladies at check in and out were very pleasant. Nurse was very helpful in asking questions and making sure I was okay. The Dr was great in making sure I understood my exam today and she even referred me to a great Urology Dr. Very pleased and I will go back if ever need help with health issues. Very friendly atmosphere.
Going to Dr. Grounds at the Womens Clinic of Johnson County is always a easy event. The staff is friendly and Dr. Grounds is so easy to talk to. She always explains why we do (or dont do) and a procedure every year and I appreciate that. Unlike some other OBGYNs she appreciates women of all stages in life - not just the childbearing years. I loved the doctor who delivered my babies but I wish Id have known about Dr. Grounds when I was having children.
If my Appt. is at 10:45, I expect to be seen by at least 11:00. Instead I am taken back at 11:52 and 50min later (11:40) I am still sitting and waiting to be seen by the doctor. It is absolutely ludicrous, especially when I have to be back at work. This has happened at almost every appt. And some I have waited an hour!
This place is a scam, they do not care about your well being. They force you to wait over an hour and half, just to never see you or to see you in 10 minutes. These people at both locations are rude. Olathe cancelled my appointment, I was over 36 weeks waiting for over a hour and half for my appointment before they realize... They made a mistake and cancelled the wrong patients appointment. Didnt care, didnt try to see me another day.
I was given a prescription for 5 days. I was not cured on the 5th day and called the office to talk to a nurse. Ileft a message on the machine with my phone number. I received a voice mail that said they wanted me to come in again. The person did not leave her name so when I called for an appointment I had no idea who to ask for. The girl at the counter had no way of knowing either. I have not had a return call-back so I still dont know what to do.
I have been seeing Dr Lombard for 8 years. Its easy to talk to her about anything. I just had my first child and she and her staff were awesome. I highly recommend the Womens Clinic of Johnson County, and especially the staff at the Shawnee Mission office!
Very nice place, clean and nicely arranged space, with kind poeple, that are always ready to help with anything. Would definitely recommend the clinic if you need a good gynecologist.
This place has too many patients and theyre completely unprofessional. My wife and I have had 2 miscarriages and the doctors bedside manner was appalling. When our third child was being born, 2 doctors showed up at the same time and almost had a fist fight over who got to deliver because they both wanted to get paid. All they care about is money. They see you as a dollar sign and not as a patient. Recently, my wife was over 40 weeks pregnant and they couldnt get her into the hospital, never returned our phone calls and kept us on hold for an hour. Luckily we have a family friend who is a doctor and he was able to get us into a hospital. I strongly urge anyone reading this to not go to these people. This is a horrible practice, dont go to it.
From the beginning to the end of labor and delivery, every single staff was amazing!! Baby and I were the focus and they always had an answer for anything I might of needed to ask. This was my 2nd delivery here, free years apart and I really enjoyed the entire process both times and highly recommend Advent (formerly Shawnee Mission Medical Center) and all the staff here!! Thank you!! :)
WCJC is structured around profit, not women’s wellness.
I have been a patient of Dr. Carrie Grounds since 2009 and am so pleased with the level of care I have received not only by her but of the staff at the Womens Clinic of Johnson County in the Menorah and the Shawnee Mission locations. The level of quality patient care and interaction I have experienced is unparalleled in all aspects of OB/GYN from routine annual visits, to birth control management to pre/post natal care, this team is stellar! Thank you for making me feel like more than just a number!
Dr. Rips is an amazing doctor. She is a good listener and great adviser. She is down to earth and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a ob/gyn doctor. Going to WCJC is like dealing with trusted family. They always treat me with tender loving care, because they really do care.
Women’s Clinic is amazing! I have been seeing Dr. Holmes for over 3 years and she is about to deliver our next baby! She is my favorite doctor. If you want a staff that cares about you and is personable then go to WCJC!
I always wait at least 25 minutes in the waiting room and then more to see the doctor- yes even during the pandemic. Currently sitting with 6 other women in my third trimester- hoping against hope I don’t catch covid. The office and exam rooms are outdated, torn up, and dirty.Update- the office has moved and that is beautiful. More crowded still though
I’ve been a patient for 15+ years and each time I interact with the staff I feel validated. They are all so helpful. I love my doctor. She’s very patient, knowledgeable and keeps me laughing while I’m there. Couldn’t have chose a better place. Thank you.
If I could give 100 stars, I would. I actually start crying (happy tears) when I think of my experience here so far. Every single person--from the receptionists to the nurses/NPs to the technicians to Dr. Healy--has gone above and beyond for me. Ive had some issues during my first months of pregnancy (spotting/bleeding and severe morning sickness), and they have been so prompt in responding to my e-mails/calls, getting me in to be seen right away (same day), and never ONCE making me feel like a burden. This is my first pregnancy, and I feel completely clueless and out of control, and every single person at WCJC has put me at ease, answered my questions, and given me hope. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Run for the hills if you want birth-control filled on time… Just in the last six months I’ve had two occurrences where they refuse to call my pharmacy back to refill a simple request of having birth control. I had my appointment lapse literally with five days between a yearly visit and they refused to refill the birth control last August. Currently, I am waiting on another prescription that I’m supposed to enter the nouveau ring today and my pharmacist has been trying to get a refill prescription for over a week now. I’m going on a large vacation in April and I am scared to death that I will not have birth control for this trip!!! It’s terrible customer service, terrible bedside manner, and all-around just a scam of an OB clinic. I will never go back again!
Good luck getting any after hr services unless your having your baby. Prescription emergencies of all kinds are automatically unqualified to reach any medical professional until business hrs. My health and my $200 per hr I have to pay for their services isnt important enough to interrupt their busy time off. Health care obviously isnt the type of SERVICE it used to be. This place isnt worth the hassle......... we will find doctors that are accountable and care!
Dr. Grounds and Dr. Healy are knowledgeable, care about your overall health and listen to your concerns. I have been going to both of them for about 3 years now and I have never had any issues. They are both so kind and wonderful!!! They really care about your overall health and wellness.
Its next to impossible to get an appointment here. I am 20 weeks pregnant, we just moved here from Texas. It was kind of important to get an appointment ASAP. I was told I had to get my medical records from my previous OBGYN before I could even make an appointment. Once they get the medical records they say they will call you for an appointment. So I got my medical records , had them fax them to the fax number online. After a week I called this WCOJC and they said they didnt have them. I called my previous OBGYN office and they said they were sent right after I had requested them.So I then called them back and said they were sent, they had there Medical records person call me, she said they may have been lost since they are moving systems around. She gave me a different fax number. So again, I called my previous OBGYN had them send them over to them. They said they will be there on the next day, which was a Thursday. So I called Friday and still no medical records were found or input in the system. This is way to difficult to get an appointment especially for a pregnant women with a whole lot of hormones.I called another OBGYN office here in KC and they got me an appointment on that day I called. They also took care of getting my medical records for me. Much better customer service.I would say NO WAY to this office. They seem very disorganized and front desk staff is rude.
Awesome group of OBGYNs. Personally see and have been lucky enough to be delivered by Dr. Healy. Office staff always extremely friendly and efficient. Love the nurses line that I can call during office hours to get a quick response for any questions I have.
Dr. Shipman is absolutely amazing. I went into pre-term labor at 26 weeks, and thanks to her and the team of doctors, I did not have my baby until 39 weeks. I was put on bed rest to prevent early labor, and Dr. Shipman was so supportive and positive throughout several challenging months. At 39 weeks I measured slightly smaller than I should, so Dr. Shipman insisted I get a sonogram that same afternoon. My sono results said that my baby was not getting the nutrients she needed. I was induced later that evening and Dr. Shipman delivered our baby girl. I truly believe that my daughter is alive and healthy because of her. I highly recommend this practice and will be forever grateful for the kindness and expertise of Dr. Shipman.
Dr. Lombard delivered both my boys and provided exceptional care. My second pregnancy was high risk, and she coordinated with the specialist throughout the process while communicating with me each step of the way.
Thank you to Dr Shipman, Dr Ripps, Jen, Kristin, Liz and Frances for all of you diligent and going beyond your job description care you have provided. You made me feel important and that is absolutely priceless. You all are irreplaceable and I hope you know what a positive impact you have forever made on mine and my families lives.
I called to get some information, after 36mins the call was answered and hung up!!! I called again and was once again at the back of the queue 11th person in place!!!! I love my Dr. But the clinic I dislike! The wait to get an appointment is ridiculous !
Dr Eckert has been my ob/gyn for 9 years. She’s skilled, knowledgeable, and has a warm, caring bedside manner. Love her!
I love this place they treat you really good. From the receptionist to the doctors. I’ve never had a bad experience here.
This place has gone downhill. The nurses could care less about you and you are basically treated like your an idiot and they are rude. Long wait time. I used to get right on and get out and I loved the people who used to work here. I will be going to a different location here on out.
Been a patient here for many years. Easy to get appointments and Dr. Maturo and her staff are very nice and professional. Highly recommend this clinic.
They are awesome. Never had an issue that wasnt resolved quickly and easily. Drs and nurses are all wonderful.
Great office!!! Good professional environment, easy to get in with, full of awesome nurses/doctors/employees that go above and beyond!!! Thank you for all your hard work!!!
Professional. Friend staff. Everyone makes you feel comfortable! I have been going to WCJC for 6 years now. I appreciate how they handle everything they do.

I am very thankful to this office, they made my experience with pregnancy a little less scary. People are friendly and competent.
Dr. Healy has always been so kind, polite and patient with me. I appreciate her so much!
I have been going to Dr. Lombard for 8 plus years and love it! They have their moments, but at the end of the day everyone is very kind and meets my needs!
Horrible place, horrible staff, insensitive doctors during my 3rd miscarriage. Avoid this place!
So far, all of the staff have been very nice and considerate. The doctor I saw was patient and answered all of my questions.
Dr Shipman is the best dr l ever met when l meet her on appointments feels like all depressions doubts goes away
We spent 3 hrs here For the obgyn to be short and verbose. I have been requesting my records for a week now and no response. I will not be back.
LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE DR. ECKERT AND HER STAFF!!! Always ready to answer questions and everyone of the answers are so assuring. Cares very much even with the smallest concerns.
Not recommend this place. For your questions and concerns, they always seems very busy and don’t have time and patience. For the bill, they answer the phone immediately and have enough labor for collecting money.
They are friendly and caring. They have a plan to help you better plan your childcare so your prepared
They did a great job making me feel comfortable with everything I was going through. It was my first time here, and I will continue to come here in the future!
Dr. Eckert is amazing. The front office is very accommodating, friendly and I’m lucky to have them.
Used to be a great practice but has gotten too big to care about its patients. If you value your time, go elsewhere.
Dr Rips is a great physician that really cares she takes her time with you no matter how busy she is.
I love the treatment I recieved from the staff and Drs. Always professional and courteous.
Great practice! Dr. Healy is wonderful! I would definitely recommend this group.

Service is awful...had appointment at 10.30 am ...waited almost 2 hours... didnt finish tell 12.30... Nurses are rude ... staff is rude... Horrible experience for a first appointment
No concern for their patients time. The main campus office is much better and much faster.
I have been here for almost 15 years and wouldnt want to be anywhere else. Love the staff and the personal care received by all.
Great nurses and doctors. Always helpful and get back to you very quickly.
Very nice place. Organized and quick.
All I can say is Thank you to everyone for the excellent care.
They’ve been running 30 - 60 minutes late for every appointment I’ve had.
Everyone is polite and helpful. Whenever I need to call in and ask a question, they respond promptly.
